ABOUT US

"We aim to offer Luxury Fishing in BC, which to us means: You show up and we take care of the rest! Completely customized trips, in remote areas away from other boats and people, with the most plush beds at night to give you the rest needed after a day on the water. Our business model is to be a niche company that offers what others don't or don't have the means to. We have achieved this with the work and help of so many individuals and we are proud and excited to have others enjoy this experience with us!" - Kevin Estrada

Before Kevin began his business ventures in the fishing world, he graduated from Michigan State University on a full ride scholarship for hockey, where he graduated with a bachelor of Science in Business and Kinesiology. He was a 3rd round draft pick to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2001 and signed with them in 2005 continuing on to play hockey at a professional level in North America and Europe. Surviving a plane crash in 2009, the time off and hockey injuries eventually caught up with him and ended his career in California in 2013 after multiple surgeries.

Since creating Sturgeon Slayers, they have been featured on some of the biggest online outlets for the outdoors including Barstool Outdoors and The Googan Squad,  as well as international television networks such as National Geographic, BBC, Wild TV, Global, Channel 5 and many more. While filming King Fishers on Nat Geo they hooked and landed the largest Sturgeon ever on TV and a top 10 largest fish in the Tagging program, measuring 10’5 forth length with a massive 65″ pectoral girth, this monster was untagged as well.

Kevin served on the Board of Directors for the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society for 4 years and was the 2015 award winner for Leadership.

In 2018, with 60K + signatures, Kevin brought forth the first ever bill on sturgeon to the House of Commons in Ottawa that called for transitioning from gill nets to sustainable harvesting techniques that will reduce impacts on Sturgeon. Further to this bill, Kevin was mentioned by MP Fin Donnelly in his farewell speech, alongside a list of world and community leaders, as a privilege to meet and work with in his career.
