Pitt River Bull Trout

Secret has been out for a long time on one of British Columbia’s most beautiful rivers. The Upper Pitt River.

Bull Trout on the Pitt River, British Columbia

For the past 20 years I’ve had the opportunity to join friends for days trips up this incredible river in helicopters and jet boats and it’s always a very memorable time. This past week we used a jet boat with local expert guide, Curtis Meyers from BC FlyFishing Charters. I’ve fished every year for the last several years with Curtis. He’s a true professional when it comes to jet boating this highly challenging and technical river.

Our preferred way to angle for Bull Trout on the Pitt River is with a Spey Rod. My set up is a 8142-4 CF Burkheimer Spey rod and a “made in BC” spey reel from Islander Reels. My alternative set up is a Winston Spey rod with an Abel reel.

Thanks for another great 3 days on the water Curtis we look forward to doing it again.
